The Pesticide Risk Reduction in Bangladesh Project, a joint effort by the Government of Bangladesh, FAO, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), has significantly enhanced pesticide lifecycle management. The initiative strengthened policy, registration, quality control, trade monitoring, safer use, food safety, and the environmentally sound disposal of obsolete pesticides, including legacy Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) stockpiles.

Through institutional capacity building and technical assistance, the project successfully reduced environmental and public health risks while promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Bangladesh. For more information, visit FAO's website or follow them on social media.
